General Workshop

Focuses on the layout, cutting, bending, and joining of light-gauge sheet metal. Using shearing tools, bending brakes, and stakes, students develop flat patterns to fabricate functional trays, covers, funnels, and ducting.

Provides introductory hands-on exposure to circuit connections and component handling. Students practice domestic wiring layouts (such as one-lamp and staircase circuits), earthing concepts, and load testing, alongside basic electronic soldering, component identification, breadboard assembly, and multimeter measurements.

Covers timber characteristics, seasoned wood selection, and joint construction. Students work with hand and power tools to produce standard lap, mortise-and-tenon, and dovetail joints for structural work and pattern making.

Emphasizes bench-tool accuracy and manual metalworking. Students practice marking, sawing, chipping, filing, drilling, and thread tapping to assemble ferrous and non-ferrous mating components within specified fits.

Configured with dedicated Electric Arc (SMAW) and Oxy-Acetylene Gas Welding bays. Training covers joint preparation, torch handling, electrode selection, and weld inspection for structural fabrication and automotive frame assemblies.

Provides training in modern automated production. Students learn G-code and M-code part programming, coordinate and tool-offset setting, and cycle verification for automated component manufacturing.

Introduces casting techniques through green sand molding. Students prepare sand mixtures, position patterns, design runner and riser gating systems, and examine the core principles of mold integrity and casting quality. 

Facilitates rapid prototyping directly from CAD models. Equipped with modern FDM 3D printers, the bay allows students to iterate custom fixtures, brackets, robot housings, and project components quickly and accurately.
